Chocolate Ring with Ginger

  • 1 cup Hershey's Natural Cocoa, for the ring
  • 2 cups flour, for the ring
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder, for the ring
  • 1 pinch salt, for the ring

  • 1 teaspoon clove, for the ring
  • 1 cup butter, for the ring
  • 1 cup sugar, for the ring
  • 1/2 cups raw sugar, for the ring
  • 4 eggs, for the ring
  • 1 cup sour cream, for the ring
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil, for the ring
  • 2 tablespoons clear vanilla, for the ring
  • 1/4 cups water, hot, for the ring
  • 1 Hershey's semisweet chocolate pastry bar, for the glaze
  • 2/3 cups whipping cream, for the glaze
  • Hershey's semisweet chocolate pastry bar, grated, for decoration

  • In a bowl, mix Hershey's Cocoa Natural, flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Use a mixer to cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and egg until the ingredients are smooth. Add the sour cream, oil, and vanilla, and continue beating. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients and, finally, pour in the hot water and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the batter into a greased ring mold and bake at 180 °C for 50 minutes.
  • For the glaze: chop the Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate baking bar and place it in a bowl over a double boiler along with the whipping cream. Mix until combined.
  • Drizzle the chocolate glaze over the chocolate ring with ginger, decorate with a little grated Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate baking bar, and enjoy.
