Desert Roses

A great accompaniment for afternoon coffee, for kids and not-so-kids. A delicious and crunchy dessert that they won't be able to resist. Plus, it's very easy to make.

  • 150 grams sugar
  • 1 lime, The zest of one lemon without any white part.
  • 150 grams butter, softened
  • 300 grams flour, for baking
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • corn flakes, (toasted cornflakes)

  • Place the sugar in the Thermomix bowl for 20 seconds, speed 5-10. Add the lemon zest for 20 seconds, speed 5-10.
  • Add the butter, flour, eggs, baking soda and mix for about 15 seconds at speed 5. It should have a creamy consistency.
  • Place in a bowl and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  • With a teaspoon, take a portion of dough, coat it with cornflakes and form a ball by pressing a little. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes. Let cool on a rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
