Preheat the oven to 190° C and grease and flour the mold for 12 muffins.
In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar and the egg.
Put the butter in a heat-resistant container and microwave for 10 seconds, repeating the process until melted, let cool slightly, and pour it into the previous mixture along with the vegetable oil, vanilla, and whisk.
In another medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and ginger.
Gradually add the flour to the egg and sugar mixture and whisk a little, add milk and the chocolate pieces or diced apples and mix until the ingredients are combined.
Divide the batter evenly into the previously greased molds, filling each mold up to 3/4 full.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, let cool, and serve.
