Apple Strudel with Cream

This apple strudel is super easy to prepare as it uses store-bought puff pastry. It is served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 green apples, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 100 grams puff pastry, store-bought
  • icing sugar, optional

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Beat the egg and water in a small bowl with a fork.
  • Mix the sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the sliced apples and raisins and stir to coat.
  • Place the puff pastry on a flat surface with a little flour and roll it out to form a rectangle of 40x30 cm.
  • With the short side of the rectangle facing you, place the apple mixture on top leaving a 2 cm border all around. Roll it up like a taco.
  • Place it with the joined edge facing down on a baking sheet and fold down the remaining sides.
  • Cover the entire puff pastry with the egg beaten with water. Using a sharp knife, cut some parallel slits on top of the strudel (to allow steam to escape).
  • Bake for 35 minutes or until the strudel is golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on a rack for 20 minutes.
