Baba al Ron

Delicious recipe for the original French baba au rhum. It is a perfect dessert with a fluffy and unique texture. It is similar to brioche but much easier to prepare. Its flavor is unmatched; you have to try it.

  • 125 grams flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 50 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cow's milk
  • 1/2 liters water, for the syrup
  • 225 grams sugar , for the syrup
  • 1/2 cups rum

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Melt the butter with the warm milk.
  • Beat the whole eggs with the sugar, then add the warm butter and milk, and finally add the flour and baking powder, beating until you have a smooth batter.
  • Grease a bundt pan with butter and add the batter to the mold. Let the batter rest in the mold for 15 minutes.
  • Bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  • While it bakes, prepare the syrup: mix half a liter of water, 225 grams of sugar, and the rum, and bring the syrup to a boil.
  • Once you take the bread out of the oven, soak the cake with the boiling syrup and let it cool.
