Delicious recipe of the baba to the original French rum. It is a perfect dessert with a spongy and unique texture. It is similar to brioche but it is much easier to prepare. Its flavor is unparalleled, you have to try it.

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 125 grams flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 50 grams butter
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 liters Water, for the syrup
  • 225 grams sugar, for the syrup
  • 1/2 cups Rum

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
Melt the butter with the warm milk.
Beat the whole eggs with the sugar, then add the warm butter and milk, finally add the flour and the baking powder to a homogeneous mass.
Cover a mold of thread with butter and add the dough in the mold. Let the dough rest in the pan for 15 minutes.
Bake for about 30 minutes.
While baking, prepare the syrup: mix half a liter of water, 225 grams of sugar and rum and boil the syrup.
When removing the bread from the oven, wet the cake with the boiling syrup and let cool.

PRESENTATION

You can add a scoop of ice cream to accompany.

TIPS

It is better to let the cake rest 24 hours before eating it and to bathe it again with syrup before serving.
