Baked Tricolor Churros

Prepare these delicious and original tricolor churros, colored green, white, and red, sprinkled with sugar and filled with a very tasty cheese and Yoplait Greek Yoghurt No Added Sugar. The best part is that they are baked and not overly high in calories. Give them a try!

  • 1/4 cups cream cheese, for the filling
  • 1 cup Yoplait® Greek yogurt with no added sugar, for the filling
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 3 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • food coloring, green and red
  • sugar, for sprinkling

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • For the filling, in a bowl, beat the cream cheese with Yoplait Greek Yoghurt No Added Sugar until you achieve a smooth mixture. Fill a pastry bag with a plain tip and refrigerate.
  • Heat a small pot over medium heat with the water until it reaches a boiling point, add the salt, sugar, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Let it infuse for a few minutes. Remove the cinnamon, add the flour all at once, and mix well until a thick dough forms, remove from heat and cool.
  • Divide the mixture into 3 equal parts and color one with red dye and the other with green. Mix very well until integrated and pour the dough into three pastry bags with a star tip.
  • Shape the churros on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar while still hot.
  • With the help of a wooden stick, pierce the churros. Fill with the yoghurt mixture and enjoy.
