Tricolor Baked Churros

Cook these delicious and original green, white, and red churros! These tricolor churros are sprinkled with sugar on top, stuffed with a tasty cream cheese and Yoplait® plain Greek yogurt with no added sugar filling. The best part is that the churros are baked, so they don't have excess calories. You gotta try them!

  • 1/4 cups cream cheese, for the filling
  • 1 cup Yoplait® Greek yogurt with no added sugar, for the filling
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 3 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • food coloring, green and red
  • sugar, for sprinkling

  • Preheat oven to 356 ºF.
  • For the filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese and Yoplait® plain Greek yogurt with no added sugar and mix until smooth.
  • In a pot, heat water over medium heat. Once it simmers, add salt, sugar, a cinnamon stick, nutmeg, and vanilla essence. Let infuse for some minutes. Remove cinnamon stick and add flour. Mix thoroughly until a thick dough is formed. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Divide dough into 3 portions. Add red food coloring to one portion and green food coloring to another one. Mix until perfectly incorporated. Transfer each portion of dough to a baking sleeve with a star nozzle.
  • On a wax paper-lined baking sheet, form the churros. Bake for about 30 minutes. While still hot, sprinkle sugar on top of the churros.
  • Using a wooden stick, make a hole in the middle of the churros. Stuff the churros with yogurt filling.
