Banana and Walnut Bread

  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 bananas, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cups pecans, finely chopped
  • walnuts, for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • Beat the butter with the sugar and add the eggs one by one.
  • Add the mashed bananas, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour, the baking powder, and when incorporated into the mixture, add the cream, the walnuts, and beat for 2 more minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan, decorate with whole walnuts in the shape of a flower, and bake for 1 hour.
  • Cool and unmold.
