Banana Bread

This recipe is for the classic banana bread, on everyone's table.

  • 4 bananas, large (very ripe)
  • 320 grams self-rising flour
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 80 grams lard, (at room temperature)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 100 grams walnuts, cut into quarters

  • In a bowl, mash the banana until it breaks apart. It is important that the bananas are very ripe.
  • Add the milk with the sugar to the bananas and mix.
  • Mix the flour with the baking soda and the baking powder and sift over the banana mixture and combine everything.
  • On the other hand, combine the butter (at room temperature) with the vanilla essence and add the eggs one by one.
  • When everything is well incorporated, add it to the previous mixture.
  • Add the walnuts and stir to distribute them.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and place the mixture in a greased and floured loaf pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
