Bicolor Heart-Shaped Cookies

These Bicolor Cookies are romantic little treats with vanilla flavor on one side and chocolate on the other.

  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter , softened
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 stick chocolate, for coating

  • Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl using a mixer until light and fluffy
  • Incorporate the egg and vanilla
  • Add the combination of flour, baking powder, and salt
  • Mix everything well and refrigerate for one hour
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness
  • Cut into heart shapes with a 2-inch cookie cutter and re-roll the scraps
  • Place 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes
  • Preheat the oven to 350° F. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden
  • Let them rest for 5 minutes on the tray and transfer to a rack to cool completely
  • Melt the chocolate and dip one side of each cookie. Place back on the rack and let them rest until the chocolate hardens
