Black and White Cookies

Black and white cookies, also known as "Black and White Cookies" are very popular in the United States. Here is a good recipe for them!

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/3 cups cow's milk, with a few drops of lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/3 cups unsalted butter, soft
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup, Karo
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cups cocoa powder

  • Preheat the oven to 280 centigrade.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix the milk (with the lemon droplets) with the vanilla extract.
  • In a blender , mix the butter and the sugar until it is pale yellow and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and continue beating until well blended.
  • Add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk mixture, to the blender at low speed. It is important to finish with the flour mixture.
  • Put the mixture with ¼ cup spoons in a separate baking tray for about 5 centimeters each.
  • Bake until golden, about 15-17 minutes. Pass the cookies to a rack and let cool about 5 minutes.
  • While the cookies are cooling, prepare the bitumen. Mix the icing sugar with honey, lemon juice, vanilla and 1 teaspoon of water in a bowl.
  • Take half the bitumen and add the cococa, adding ½ teaspoon of water if necessary to water it.
  • Put white bitumen in half of the cookies and chocolate bitumen in the other half.
  • Serve immediately.
