Brownies with White Chocolate

These delicious brownies have a layer of white chocolate on top.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cups cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/4 tablespoons salt
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups unsalted butter , melted
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups white chocolate, in pieces
  • 1/2 cups whipping cream

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a 20 cm square baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the sugar, butter, and vanilla. Add the eggs and continue mixing. Add the flour mixture and beat for 2-3 more minutes.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out slightly sticky. Remove from the oven.
  • Melt the white chocolate using a double boiler and mix with the heavy cream. Using a spatula, pour the chocolate over the brownies and use the spatula to smooth the mixture. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the brownies from the refrigerator and cut into squares.
