Vanilla Cake

Try this delicious vanilla cake recipe, it's perfect for a birthday cake. It's very easy to make.

  • 2 cups flour, for the cake
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 tub vanilla frosting
  • 1 jar strawberry jam
  • rainbow sprinkles

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Mix the baking powder, flour, and salt.
  • Beat the egg whites together with the milk.
  • Beat the butter until a creamy consistency is achieved.
  • Gradually add the sugar to the butter and once well mixed, add the vanilla.
  • Add the mixture of dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the egg mixture. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Place in a greased and floured mold.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and cut the cake in half.
  • Fill the center with jam and vanilla frosting.
  • Reassemble the top of the cake leaving the filling in the middle.
  • Cover the entire cake with frosting (you can use a piping bag) and sprinkle colored chips on top.
