  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • For the cake, beat the butter with the sugar for 5 minutes, add the vanilla, cream, and beat until combined.
  • Add the eggs, egg white, and beat for 3 minutes. Incorporate the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Divide the batter into two equal parts; to one bowl add the melted chocolate and mix until combined.
  • Pour the batter into 2 previously greased and floured molds, bake for 50 min. Let cool and set aside.
  • Level the cakes if necessary by cutting off the top of each cake layer. Using a cake leveler or serrated knife, cut the cakes horizontally in half so that you obtain 2 layers of the same thickness from each.
  • Using 3 plates of different sizes, cut each cake layer to obtain four circles from largest to smallest.
  • Layer the circles, alternating the colors; place the medium vanilla circle inside the largest chocolate circle, then continue with a small chocolate circle and finish with the smallest vanilla one. Repeat with the remaining circles until you have 4 bicolor layers.
  • For the frosting, beat the butter until soft, add the powdered sugar and cocoa. Set aside.
  • With the help of a serrated spatula, spread a little frosting on each layer of the cake to stick each piece together, alternating the colored layers.
  • Cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting and decorate with rosettes.
  • Cut a slice and enjoy with a coffee.
