Chocolate Cake with Coffee Notes

This chocolate cake with coffee is perfect, super easy to prepare, and a guarantee for any event. The chocolate flavor is enhanced by the coffee notes that make it more intense. It has a chocolate frosting with coffee. I recommend it!

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon grain salt
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup strong coffee, hot
  • 85 grams semi-dark chocolate chips, melted, (for the frosting)
  • 12 tablespoons butter, soft, (for the frosting)
  • 3 cups icing sugar, (for the frosting)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence, (for the frosting)
  • 4 tablespoons whipping cream, (for the frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons espresso coffee, (for the frosting)
  • 1 pinch salt, (for the frosting)

  • In a mixer, combine all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder).
  • In a bowl, first mix the milk with the vinegar and stir well. Then add the vanilla extract, 2 eggs, and the oil. Stir well.
  • With the mixer on, add the bowl mixture to the dry ingredients until well mixed.
  • Finally, add the hot coffee.
  • Divide between 2 equal greased and floured pans and bake at 350 F (180 degrees) for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Prepare the frosting by mixing all the frosting ingredients in a mixer (add the cream and coffee gradually tasting to achieve the desired consistency).
  • Once the cake cools, place one of the cakes on a platter and spread frosting on top. Place the other cake on top and cover everything with frosting. Sprinkle with grated chocolate if desired.
