Chocolate Cake with Orange Frosting

  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3/4 cups sour cream, sour
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cups cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 3/4 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 sticks butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a bundt pan.
  • Beat 1 1/2 sticks of butter together with the sugar until creamy, then add the vanilla and sour cream.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
  • Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk to the creamed butter mixture.
  • Beat for two more minutes on low speed until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the bundt pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out dry. Unmold and let cool for 15 minutes.
  • To prepare the frosting, mix 1/2 stick of melted butter, powdered sugar, and orange juice in a bowl.
  • The cake is coated with the frosting so that the entire surface is covered.
