Wet Nut Cake

Delicious cake with walnuts soaked in condensed milk, filled with walnuts and covered with dulce de leche.

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 pounds margarine
  • 6 eggs, separated the egg white and yolk
  • 2 cups cow's milk
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups walnuts, ground for the dough
  • 1 cup walnuts, crushed, for filling
  • 1 pound dulce de leche, for filling
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 2 lids amaretto, small
  • 1 pound dulce de leche, to cover

  • Beat the margarine with the sugar and the yolks until creamy.
  • Add alternately the flour with baking powder and the milk.
  • Incorporate the ground walnuts as if they were flour.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the dough gently.
  • Place the dough in a previously greased and floured 30 x 30 cm mold.
  • Bake for 45 minutes at 350 °F or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cool and cut the cake in half.
  • Mix the condensed milk with the milk and the liquor and soak each layer of the cake.
  • Mix the crushed walnuts and dulce de leche and fill.
  • Cover the cake with dulce de leche.
  • Decorate to taste according to the occasion.
