Canarian Tamales

This is a different and delicious recipe for making tamales for those allergic to corn; this recipe does not contain it.

  • 400 grams rice flour
  • 100 grams wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 250 grams butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 100 grams raisins
  • 3 eggs

  • Mix the flours with the baking powder.
  • Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla and add the eggs one by one, continuing to beat.
  • Add the sifted flour mixture and the raisins, and mix gently until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
  • Form the tamales by placing a bit of the dough on each corn husk (according to the desired size), wrap them, and place them in a steamer or tamalera. Cook for one hour or until the tamales easily detach from the husk.
