Carrot Cake with Honey

Delicious carrot cake, it is very healthy and low in calories.

  • 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1/2 cups flour, white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cups water
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

  • Preheat the oven to 180º Sift the flours, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and sugar. All in the same bowl.
  • Add the walnuts, honey, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Mix with a spatula until dry.
  • Add the water and the oil. Set the mixer to low speed, mix.
  • Add the eggs one by one.
  • Add the carrot, mix well into the batter. Beat at medium speed.
  • In the greased and floured baking pan, add the mixture with the help of a spatula.
  • Bake for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the power of each oven.
