Chocolate Bacon Donuts

  • 1 cup raw sugar, for the dough
  • 1/4 cups whole milk, for the dough

  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, for the dough, chopped

  • 2 cups icing sugar, for the glaze
  • 1/2 cups maple syrup, for the glaze

  • In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar; add the whole milk and the egg. Work until the ingredients are well incorporated, then add the chocolate in small pieces.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased bowl and cover, let the dough rest for one hour until it doubles in size. Punch down the dough and roll it out to a thickness of 1.5 cm to form the donuts and cut them. Let the donuts rest again for 15 minutes until they double in size.
  • To fry the donuts, heat enough vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Immerse the donuts in the hot oil and fry for about 5 minutes. Drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and fry the bacon slices until golden brown. Let cool and cut the bacon into pieces.
  • For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with the maple syrup until you achieve a semi-thick consistency.
  • Once the donuts have cooled, glaze them with the mixture you prepared. Add pieces of bacon and dark chocolate.
