Chocolate Frosted Cake

This chocolate cake is very easy to prepare and has a very nice milk chocolate frosting. You can cover it completely or just make stripes with the frosting on top.

  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 stick butter, 90 grams for the frosting
  • 1/2 cups cocoa, for the frosting
  • 1 cup icing sugar, for the frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, H-E.-B for the frosting
  • 1/4 cups evaporated milk, (for the frosting)

  • Prepare the coffee. Mix the teaspoon of instant coffee with the boiling water and let cool.
  • In a saucepan, bring the milk to a boil and add a tablespoon of vinegar when it boils. Let cool.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift everything at least twice.
  • Add the eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Beat everything on medium speed for two minutes until well combined.
  • Grease a round cake pan and preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Fill the pan with the mixture and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool on a rack.
  • Prepare the frosting: cream the butter with a mixer until smooth, add the cocoa, vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk gradually until you have a thick consistency.
