Chocolate Mousse for Two

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon liqueur, of raspberry or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cups whipping cream, cold
  • sweetened whipped cream, (optional)
  • 1 cup raspberries, fresh or strawberries (optional)

  • Mix the sugar and gelatin in a small saucepan
  • Add the milk
  • Let it sit for two minutes to soften the gelatin
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture starts to boil
  • Remove from heat, immediately add the chocolate chips and stir until melted
  • Add the liqueur or essence and let cool
  • Whip the cream in a bowl until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the chocolate mixture, gently stirring until combined
