Preheat the oven to 325º F (160 degrees Celsius). Put milk, cream, chocolate, and vanilla in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring with a wooden spoon, then remove from heat. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, yolks, and sugar until smooth, then add a little of the chocolate mixture while stirring well to avoid lumps, constantly mixing. Incorporate this mixture into the chocolate and stir. Strain if necessary and remove any foam if present.
Pour this mixture into 6 ramekin molds and place them in a baking dish filled with water up to 1 1/2 cm from the edge of the molds. Bake until set for 30 minutes. Remove from the water and cool. Once cooled, decorate with a star of whipped cream and grated chocolate.
