Peanut Butter and Jelly Brownies

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 1/4 cups butter, at room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cups strawberry jam

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a large bowl, beat the sugar, peanut butter, and butter well with an electric mixer. Add the eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add the flour and salt; beat until well combined. Fold in the chocolate.
  • Spread the mixture into a 9-inch square pan lined with greased aluminum foil. Drop spoonfuls of jam over the batter; swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with sticky crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Allow to cool completely. Use the foil to lift the brownies out of the pan before serving.
