Christmas Cake with Chocolate Trees

  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 lime, just the juice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, for Arm & Hammer™ Baking
  • 1 cup chocolate, melted, for decoration
  • 1 cup marshmallows, 8 pieces, for the frosting
  • 1 cup icing sugar, for the frosting
  • 2 sticks butter, for the frosting
  • 190 grams cream cheese, for the frosting

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Beat the butter with the sugar until it doubles in volume. Add the condensed milk, lemon juice, vanilla, salt, eggs one at a time, and evaporated milk.
  • Sift the flour, cocoa, and Arm & Hammer™ Baking Soda.
  • Without beating, gently fold in the flour and cocoa, the baking powder, and Arm & Hammer™ Baking Soda.
  • Pour into a previously greased and floured cake pan.
  • Bake for 35 minutes, unmold, and let cool.
  • For the decorations, place the chocolate in a piping bag with a plain tip.
  • On a piece of wax paper, draw the little trees with chocolate and let cool for 10 minutes.
  • For the frosting, melt marshmallows in the microwave. Set aside.
  • In a mixer, add the butter, incorporate the cream cheese and powdered sugar, and add the marshmallows; beat until combined.
  • Decorate the cake with the frosting and place the chocolate trees.
