Christmas Cheese and Peach Tart

This Christmas, prepare this delicious cheese tart with yoghurt and peaches. It has a crunchy walnut base, a spiced cheese filling with yoghurt, and a hint of vanilla; best of all, it's topped with this delicious fruit.

  • 1 cup flour, for the base
  • 1/2 cups walnuts
  • 1/4 cups sugar, for the base
  • 1/8 teaspoons salt, for the base
  • 2 egg yolks, for the base
  • 1 tablespoon whipping cream, for the base
  • 1/4 teaspoons vanilla essence, for the base
  • 90 grams butter, portioned, chilled, for the base
  • 190 grams cream cheese
  • 3/4 cups Oikos® plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 Danette® Vanilla Custard
  • 1/4 cups icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons anise powder
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 cup canned peaches, sliced

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C, grease and flour a tart pan.
  • In a food processor, process the flour, walnuts, sugar, and salt. Add the egg yolks, heavy cream, vanilla, and process for 1 more minute. Add the butter and process until incorporated. Knead a little and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Roll out, line the pan, and prick the base with a fork. Place a piece of aluminum foil and beans on top and bake for 20 minutes or until the base is cooked. Cool.
  • For the filling, cream the cream cheese with the Natural Yoghurt Oikos® and the Vanilla Danette® Custard in a mixer, adding the powdered sugar, spices, and zest.
  • Fill the tart base with the filling and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Decorate with the peach slices.
