Christmas Chocolate Cake Pops

Have fun with these delicious Christmas chocolate cake pops that will be the sensation for your Christmas dinner. For this recipe, you only need Duncan Hines® Devil’s Food® Chocolate Cake Mix, which is not only very practical and easy to prepare but will also give the right texture to your pops.

  • 1 box Duncan Hines® Chocolate Cake Flour Devil's Food® flavor
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream, for the ganache
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate, chopped, for the ganache
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for the ganache
  • 3 eggs, for the cake
  • 1/3 cups vegetable oil, for the cake
  • 1 cup water, for the cake
  • rainbow sprinkles, preferably in Christmas colors

  • Prepare the ganache: Pour the heavy cream into a pot and heat over very low heat without letting it boil. Once hot, remove from heat, add the chocolate and butter immediately, and mix with a spatula. You should obtain a manageable and smooth mixture. Set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Prepare the cake: Place the Duncan Hines® Devil’s Food® Chocolate Cake Mix in a bowl along with the egg, vegetable oil, and water. Mix for 5 minutes with a whisk until you obtain a homogeneous and semi-thick mixture.
  • Pour the chocolate cake mix into the previously buttered and floured rectangular mold. Bake at 180 °C for 30 minutes or until the center of the cake is firm. Remove from the oven and cool.
  • Cut the cake into triangles and place a wooden stick in each one to simulate a popsicle. Add the ganache on top of each of the Christmas chocolate cake pops and decorate with colored sprinkles.
