Christmas Cookies

  • 1/2 cups butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cups honey, of cane
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup icing sugar, previously sifted
  • 4 tablespoons water

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C
  • In a pan, heat the butter with the sugar, honey, and vinegar until it boils, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  • Remove from heat and let cool until the mixture is warm; add the lightly beaten egg while stirring constantly to prevent it from cooking.
  • Mix the flour with baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt; add to the previous mixture and stir until a smooth dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into three parts, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface, using gingerbread cutters to cut out the cookies. Place on a greased and floured baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
  • For the icing, mix powdered sugar with water, measuring the consistency to ensure it is firm and not too runny.
  • Ready! You can already smell the aroma of these delicious homemade Christmas cookies. Serve them as the main dish for your snack.
