Churros with Cajeta

Delicious churros with cajeta recipe. They are ideal for finishing a wonderful family meal. Try it, the churros are made with Harina Gamesa®, served sprinkled with sugar, and accompanied by cajeta! EAT WELL

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/8 teaspoons salt
  • 1 3/4 cups Gamesa® pancake mix
  • 1 cup cajeta
  • vegetable oil
  • sugar

  • In a saucepan, mix the flour, water, butter, and salt.
  • In a separate pot or pan, heat the oil until it starts to boil.
  • Add the Harina para Hot Cakes Gamesa® to the previous mixture and beat with a mixer until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
  • Fill a piping bag with the mixture.
  • With a little bit of dough, check if the oil is hot; if it’s too hot, the dough will burn, and if it’s still cold, the dough won't start bubbling. So if it’s cold, heat it a little more, and if it’s too hot, let it cool down a bit so the churros don't burn.
  • Once the oil is at the desired temperature, form the churros with the piping bag and drop them into the pot with hot oil.
  • Wait until the churros are golden brown, without letting them burn.
  • On a plate with a napkin, place the churros that are ready to remove excess oil.
  • Sprinkle sugar on top of the churros; you can also coat the churros in sugar, depending on how much you want.
  • Let cool and serve with cajeta.
