Cinnamon Rolls

Prepare the tastiest Cinnamon Rolls with this recipe, remember they are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven and pair them with Coffee, Cappuccino, or a glass of cold Milk. This recipe yields about 16 rolls.

  • 1/4 canola oil
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1 cup artificial sweetener, granulated
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 5 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cups raisins
  • 1/2 cups apple juice

  • Heat the milk (do not let it boil). Add half of the sugar, the salt, and the oil, mix, and remove from heat.
  • Combine the yeast and water (let sit for 5 minutes).
  • Beat the egg, the egg whites, and mix with the yeast and the milk (wait for the milk to warm slightly).
  • Mix the flour until a soft dough forms.
  • Flour a surface and place the dough, knead until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a bowl and cover the bowl with plastic.
  • Wait an hour and a half for it to double in size.
  • Divide the dough into two and form two balls.
  • Cover them with plastic and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  • Mix the cinnamon and raisins with the other half of the sugar.
  • Spray cooking oil on the baking sheet.
  • With the help of a rolling pin, roll out the dough and cut rectangles of 40 x 20 cm (approximately).
  • Cover both doughs with cooking spray and sprinkle half of the cinnamon on one and half on the other.
  • Roll up the rectangles, cut each roll into 8 pieces (approximately).
  • Place them on the baking sheet and wait an hour and a half until they double in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 180º C.
  • Heat the apple juice, brush each roll and place the baking sheet in the oven for about 15 minutes.
