Cocada is a traditional beach dessert where we mix grated coconut with milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and condensed milk. This recipe is not only very delicious but also very easy.
Bring the cup of milk to a boil with the cinnamon stick in a pot over medium heat. Add one and a half cups of grated coconut and let it cook until the coconut softens and the milk is absorbed.
Add the condensed milk to the mixture and stir with a wooden spoon constantly to prevent sticking, for 15 to 20 minutes over medium heat.
Meanwhile, in a skillet, toast the half cup of remaining coconut, adding the ground cinnamon.
Remove the cocada from the heat and form balls or a tart. Roll the balls or decorate the tart with the remaining coconut.
