Separate the egg yolks from the whites and beat the yolks with the sugar. Gradually add the milk and cook the mixture over medium heat until it thickens.
Remove from heat and add the cup of coffee, the gelatin previously dissolved in a little warm water, the cream, the sugar, and the tablespoon of vanilla. Lightly moisten a mold and pour the mixture into it, then refrigerate for 3 hours.
Unmold the dessert, place it on a serving dish, and decorate it with the walnuts.
