Bread Pudding

  • 7 eggs
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 800 milliliters cow's milk, warm
  • 300 grams bread, without crust (can be from the day before)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 170 grams sugar, for the caramel
  • 50 milliliters water, for the caramel

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • To prepare the caramel, in a pan put the sugar with the water and heat over medium heat without stirring until the sugar dissolves and turns light brown. Pour it and spread it all over the bottom of a cake mold.
  • Put the bread in the bowl and break it up with your hands, pour in the warm milk and let it sit for 20 minutes to soften.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla essence.
  • Blend the bread with a food processor and mix it with the egg mixture, pour this into the caramelized cake mold and bake for 1 hour in a water bath.
