Carlota for Beginners

With this recipe, you will impress at a gathering; it's easy to make, and you only need refrigeration. A blender, or a bowl with a fork for mixing, or a whisk. Delicious for tea time or to accompany coffee with friends, or to take to a gathering.

  • 2 packages María cookies
  • 2 packages table cream
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1/2 cups lemon juice
  • 2 lemons, (zest)

  • Put the lemon juice, the 2 cans of media crema, and the can of condensed milk in the blender and blend for 1 minute.
  • Inside a glass (plastic or aluminum) baking dish, place a layer of cookies, making sure to cover the bottom well. With a spoon, spread a thin layer of the blender mixture, followed by another layer of cookies covering the next layer again, and repeat the procedure until you finish the cookies and the blender mixture, layer by layer.
  • To decorate, once you finish the layers of cookies and the blender mixture, sprinkle lemon zest on top of the carlota. Place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours, cut, and serve.
