Chocolate Mousse with Red Fruits

Chocolate mousse is a classic French dessert, it adds an elegant touch to any meal or dinner. A very easy recipe to prepare, where chocolate is the star of this dish. A perfect recipe to pamper your loved ones.

  • 1 1/2 cups bittersweet chocolate
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cups sugar, 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/4 cups whipping cream
  • 1 cup egg white
  • 1/4 cups mixed berries, (strawberries and raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint

  • Beat the yolks with 50 grams of sugar until frothy, then add the heavy cream. Beat until the mixture doubles in size.
  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 15-second intervals to avoid burning the chocolate. Stir occasionally.
  • Place the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl and beat until you achieve a soft peak texture. Gradually add the remaining sugar until the meringue is very firm.
  • Add the mixture of egg yolks and heavy cream to the melted chocolate.
  • Fold the meringue into the previous mixture, trying to incorporate the meringue gently to avoid losing volume.
  • Pour the mixture into a pastry bag and fill the jar you will be using. Add the red fruits and pour more chocolate on top. Repeat this process until the jar is full.
  • Refrigerate for 40 minutes or until ready to serve.
