Cuban Guava Pastries

These crispy and tasty Cuban guava pastries will become your favorite dessert with their delicious creamy flavor and guava filling, perfect to accompany with coffee.

  • 1/2 cups guava paste, or guava paste
  • 250 grams puff pastry
  • 190 grams cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted for brushing

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Cut the guava jelly into 3 cm x 3 cm squares.
  • On a smooth, floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until it is 4 mm thick.
  • Cut 2 large rectangles, place the guava paste and a piece of cream cheese on the first rectangle, brush the edges with beaten egg, cover with the second rectangle. Cut into perfect squares.
  • Brush with melted butter.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
