  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons salt
  • 2 1/4 sticks unsalted butter , at room temperature
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 package cream cheese, for the frosting
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter , for the frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for the frosting
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence, for the frosting

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Prepare two cupcake trays, one with yellow liners and the other with blue liners.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  • Add the flour mixture and milk and beat until you achieve a uniform batter.
  • Pour the batter into the liners and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • While the cupcakes are baking, make the frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract in an electric mixer.
  • Divide the frosting into two equal parts and add 1 drop of blue food coloring to one and 1 drop of yellow food coloring to the other (be careful as the food coloring is very strong, you can add it drop by drop until you achieve the desired color) and continue beating.
  • Once the cupcakes and frosting are ready, decorate the cupcakes with the frosting.
