Red Velvet Cupcakes

Red velvet is a recipe that many of us think is difficult because it has a color that is hard to achieve in any other cake; however, it is easier than it seems, and here I will show you that the most delicious things are the easiest to make.

  • Preheat the oven to 200° C for 15 minutes. Sift together the cocoa, salt, baking powder, and flour.
  • Mix a few drops of red food coloring, sour cream, vanilla extract, and white vinegar.
  • Using a mixer, cream the butter until fluffy, then add the sugar, trying to dissolve it in the butter (when the sugar crystals are no longer noticeable, the butter is ready to use).
  • Add the eggs one by one to the butter.
  • Continue alternating the dry and wet ingredients until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • After mixing, if you want a little more color intensity, just add a bit more food coloring until you achieve the desired color, keeping in mind that it will intensify when baked.
  • Bake in a 24-cupcake tray with liners at a temperature of 180° C for 15 minutes.
