Delicious Red Velvet Cake

Try this fluffy red velvet; it's a dessert that not only tastes amazing but looks incredible as well; the contrast of the deep red cake with the white frosting will make it very tempting. Give it a try!

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cups margarine with salt I can't believe it's not Butter®
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cups low-fat milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 190 grams cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cups icing sugar
  • 2 cups strawberries, slice

  • Sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Separately, beat the Margarine I Can't Believe It's Not Butter® with the sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs, vanilla, and flour mixture alternately until combined.
  • Add the yogurt, milk, and white vinegar along with the food coloring. Beat until there are no lumps.
  • Pour the mixture into a previously greased pan and bake at 180 °C for 35 minutes or until well cooked. Let cool, unmold, and cut in half horizontally (to fill it).
  • For the frosting, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar; spread some of the frosting on one half of the cake, add the strawberries, and place the other half on top.
  • Cover the cake with the remaining frosting. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and serve.
