Easy Butter Cookies

  • 450 grams flour
  • 250 grams butter
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 20 grams baking powder, royal
  • 1 egg, large

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a bowl, cream the butter with a mixer; once well creamed, add the sugar. In another bowl, mix the baking powder with the flour and set aside.
  • Add the egg to the creamed butter with the sugar (at this point, it will look like a sticky dough).
  • Once the egg is well incorporated, add the salt and vanilla.
  • Then, gradually incorporate the flour mixture until a smooth dough forms (when you pinch it with your fingers, it should sink a little under pressure).
  • Divide the mixture into two parts and store them in bags in the refrigerator for fifteen minutes.
  • Once the dough is chilled, sprinkle some flour on a flat surface and roll it out until it is about half a centimeter thick. Cut the cookies with your preferred cutter.
  • To bake them, place them on a previously greased and floured baking sheet; bake for ten to fifteen minutes or until the edges are just starting to brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool. Once they are cool, you can decorate them.
