Spiral Cookies

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 sticks butter, (90 g each) in cubes
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3 drops red food coloring
  • 1/4 cups rainbow sprinkles, bakeable

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a processor, place the flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla, and process for 3 minutes until the ingredients are combined.
  • Take it out and knead a little with your hands to achieve a smooth and homogeneous dough.
  • Divide the dough into two and color one half with food coloring. Wrap separately in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Roll out the two doughs to a thickness of 1 cm, trying to make a rectangle. Brush the surface of one of the doughs with a bit of egg and place the other color on top. Roll up and cut into 1 cm thick slices.
  • Brush the roll with egg and coat with colored sprinkles. Cut into 1 cm thick slices.
  • Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden. Cool and serve.
