Marsella Cookies

Marsella cookies are delicious cookies filled with jam, delightful!

  • 640 grams flour
  • 440 grams butter
  • 1 can milkmaid
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 4 egg yolks
  • jam, the necessary amount and of whatever flavor you prefer
  • 1 egg, for glazing

  • Sift the flour and make a well. Add the grated orange there.
  • Either with a mixer or with a spatula, cream the butter and slowly add the sweetened condensed milk, then the egg yolks. Once everything is well integrated, if you used a mixer, place it in the center of the flour well and gradually incorporate it. Similarly, continue integrating the flour.
  • Once the dough is ready, put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes in a plastic bag.
  • Flour your work surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 centimeter thick and with a cookie cutter start cutting.
  • Repeat, flour your work surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 centimeter thick and with a cookie cutter start cutting, but with a smaller one in the middle you have to cut the same amount of cookies with and without a hole.
  • With the egg well beaten and a brush, brush the cookie without a hole on the top edge with egg and place the cookie with the hole on top, glaze it and add jam in the hole.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet, either greased or lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes and done!
