  • 125 grams butter
  • 110 grams sugar, 1 extra tablespoon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 250 grams wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C In a bowl, sift the flour with the salt, baking powder, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy at medium-high speed. With low speed, add the beaten egg in two or three additions until fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour while mixing until the dough pulls away from the sides.
  • Mix the tablespoon of sugar with the teaspoon of cinnamon well. Form walnut-sized balls with the dough and roll them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • Place on a baking sheet, spaced about 3 cm apart. Gently flatten the cookies with your hand. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
