Buñuelos de Viento

Prepare these delicious buñuelos de viento. They are very easy to make and have a rich cinnamon and vanilla flavor. They have a crispy exterior and a soft, bread-like interior. Be sure to try them. You will love them!

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 500 milliliters vegetable oil
  • lime zest
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup cow's milk

  • Mix the flour with the baking powder. I recommend sifting it to avoid lumps. Add the vanilla and the egg.
  • Add half of the flour and beat until all ingredients are combined. Incorporate the rest of the milk and beat until you have a liquid, lump-free batter.
  • Place the oil in a pot and heat it to 180°C. Add the lemon zest, remembering to remove the lemon zest before you start frying the buñuelos.
  • Using a spoon, drop a small ball of the dough into the oil. Fry it for about 3 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Repeat this process with the remaining dough.
  • Place the buñuelos on paper towels to absorb the excess fat.
  • Cover the buñuelos de viento with sugar and cinnamon.
