Buñuelos with Trapiche Honey

Typical buñuelos from my town. It is a delicious and very tasty recipe. It is a family recipe that my children love. It is very easy to prepare and has a very, very rich flavor. Once you cook them, they will become your favorite dessert.

  • 1 kilo flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 750 milliliters cow's milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons anise
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 liters oil

  • Boil the sweet potato with half a cup of water.
  • Once cooked, add 2 cups of milk and anise, and let it cool.
  • Dissolve the yeast in the remaining lukewarm milk and blend with the sweet potatoes and the rest of the milk.
  • Gradually add to the flour and stir, then add the sugar, salt, and margarine, continuing to knead until it forms little bubbles. Let it rest until it rises, shape the buñuelos, and fry in oil.
