Churro Popcorn

  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon yeast, (15 g)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon, powder
  • 1/4 cups hazelnut chocolate cream
  • 1/4 cups condensed milk
  • 1/4 cups cajeta

  • Heat water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, salt, and yeast. Mix thoroughly, stirring continuously until it pulls away from the sides. Transfer the dough to another container and let it cool slightly.
  • Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Let it rest and transfer the dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Carefully drop the dough into the oil and cut to the desired size with scissors. Fry until golden brown for 5 minutes, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix sugar with cinnamon. Toss the churro popcorn to coat with sugar. Serve in wax paper cones. Serve with hazelnut cream, sweetened condensed milk, and cajeta.
