Cornstarch and Condensed Milk Cookies

The cornstarch and condensed milk cookies are a family recipe; they are delicious cookies to have with tea. You won’t believe how easy they are to prepare and how tasty they are. It won't take you more than 40 minutes to prepare them.

  • 1/2 cups condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 50 grams lard, at room temperature
  • 250 grams cornstarch , more will be needed to finish the dough

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • In a bowl, mix the egg and stir, add the sugar and butter, and mix. Finally, add the condensed milk and vanilla, and mix until it becomes like a cream.
  • Now step by step, we gradually incorporate the 250 gr of cornstarch and the baking powder.
  • To finish, while still with the liquid mixture, sprinkle plenty of cornstarch on a countertop and pour in the mixture, gradually adding cornstarch until forming a soft dough.
  • Cut the dough into four equal parts, roll them into a log, a snake, or whatever you call it in your country, and cut into equal pieces. Bake for 10 minutes and enjoy.
