Homemade Cereal Bars

Here you will find a simple, economical, and delicious recipe for homemade cereal bars made with amaranth, oats, and coconut. They are perfect as a snack between your main meals or as a tasty dessert. In this recipe, you will find three different delicious flavors: almond and raisin, blueberry and chocolate, and cookies, candies, and chocolate. Kids will love them.

  • 3 cups oats
  • 3 cups amaranth
  • 1/2 cups coconut, shredded
  • 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup cranberries, for the Blueberry Chocolate Bar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, for the Blueberry Chocolate Bar
  • 1 cup almonds, for the Almond and Raisin Bar
  • 1 cup raisins, for the Almond and Raisin Bar
  • 3/4 cups colorful button-shaped chocolates, for the Cookie, Chocolate and Candy Bars
  • 3/4 cups OREO cookies, for the Cookie, Chocolate and Candy Bars
  • 3/4 cups marshmallow, for the Cookie, Chocolate and Candy Bars

  • In three bowls, separate the oats, amaranth, and coconut in equal parts. Mix.
  • In the first bowl, add almonds and raisins.
  • In another bowl, add chocolate and blueberry chips.
  • In the last bowl, incorporate cookies, candies, and chocolate.
  • In a pot, melt the butter. Add honey, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and let it simmer for 2:00 minutes. Turn off the heat and add vanilla.
  • Add one part of the previous mixture to each bowl. Stir very well.
  • In a lightly greased square dish, place the mixture and press firmly. You can use a potato masher to help.
  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Cut into squares of 6 x 6 cm.
