Homemade hollow churros

Churros are one of the most popular desserts; they are delicious, sweet, and have a texture that you will love. They are very easy to make, and they will turn out so good that you won't want to buy them again.

  • 350 grams flour
  • 15 grams yeast
  • 325 milliliters water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 300 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 500 milliliters vegetable oil, for frying

  • In a small pot, place water; once hot, add flour, salt, and yeast, incorporating gradually and stirring until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pot. Once ready, place the mixture in another container and let it cool.
  • Add the egg to the mixture and mix perfectly until you obtain a homogeneous mixture, allow it to cool, and place it in a Ziploc® bag with a star tip.
  • Pour the oil into a pan and heat it over medium heat, making sure the temperature is not too high. Shape the churros to your liking (squeezing the Ziploc® bag), and cut them to your preferred size with a stick or scissors.
  • Fry them, gradually, and when they are golden, remove them from the pan and drain the excess fat.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and serve.
