Meringues for Baby Shower

Prepare these delicious and easy meringues for a baby shower. They are very simple to make and you can decorate them however you like. They bake at a low temperature for 1 hour to ensure they are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are perfect as a treat for your guests or to serve during the baby shower.   • 4 eggs
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 containers food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  • Separate the yolks from the whites. If you accidentally get a yolk in the egg whites, I recommend starting the separation over as the egg whites will not whip up properly.
  • Whip the egg whites and gradually add the sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Divide the mixture into three equal parts and tint two of the halves with food coloring, leaving one white. Place each meringue into a piping bag and on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, shape into different figures. Use a round tip to form clouds with the white meringue, and raindrops with the blue meringue. For rosettes, use a star tip in the pink meringue bag.
  • Decorate with colorful sprinkles or sugar pearls and bake in the oven at 150°C for 1 hour. You know the meringues are ready when they easily lift off.
  • Let them cool for about 20 minutes and serve.
